Michael Heath

My name is Michael Heath and I am announcing my candidacy for Okanogan County Commissioner for District 1. I was born and raised in Inchelium, WA where my parents Robert and Rosalie began a teaching career fresh out of college at Eastern Washington University in 1971. In their retirement today, they still call the Colville Reservation their home. I currently reside in Malott, WA with my fiancé, Naomie Peasley, and her daughters Pepper and Addyson. I have two daughters as well. My oldest, Chantel Kuykendall, lives in Prescott, Arizona where she practices Physical Therapy at Mountain Valley Regional Rehab Hospital. My youngest, Meika Heath, is a Forestry Technician for the Colville Confederated Tribes, as well as a Communications Technician for the National Interagency Fire Center.

I have owned and operated my own businesses since 1995. My first was Wild Horse Auto Glass where I served Northeastern Washington until 2013. At that juncture in my career, I decided to venture into the ecommerce sector and became a minority owner and helped open Ampartlink in Southern California. Later, we relocated our business to Las Vegas because, as many of you know, taxes and high operating costs in California were causing huge strains on how we served our customers. In 2020, I became a Ferry County Commissioner and held that position until recently. I resigned in March 2024 to continue the next chapter of my life in Okanogan County.

My experience as Ferry County Commissioner has given me huge insight into the world of Washington politics, and beyond. I served the rural County making sure that the values and moral of its People were never overshadowed by the desires of big government, working alongside other Eastern Washington Commissioners, Legislators and Senators. I feel strongly that Okanogan County is very similar to its Ferry County neighbors in fighting for sustainability of those strong rural roots. I have enjoyed being a strong advocate for the People and hope to continue to do so for all residents of Okanogan County.

I do not like party politics. I believe parties have gone too far left or too far right, leaving the average person somewhere in the middle, only to be “labeled” and “shunned” when branded (R) or (D). I am conservative and running for the issues that affect Okanogan County including taxes, roads, and crime, specifically drugs and theft, that are hitting the homes of nearly every County resident today. In addition, land and water rights, along with Planning concerns related to the GMA that the State has adopted, are directly affecting Okanogan County.

I promise Truth, Trust, and Transparency for the People of Okanogan County if I am selected as your District 1 representative.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions. I am only a phone call, email or coffee chat away and willing to listen to your thoughts and concerns.

Thank you for your time.
